In 1994, both arrogant brothers William and Jim Reid is one of the coolest noisy groups in the world, decided to compose an album almost entirely acoustic. The result is this "Stoned and Dethroned" magnificent nest in which 17 songs of great beauty.
Try to resist, for example, vocal duet between Jim and the lovely Hope Sandoval on "Sometimes Always", or this impressive series of securities bland out "Come on," the intervention of Shane Mc Gowan on 'God help me "to" Between us "superbly poppy and" Tu tu tu tu, tu tu, "in Jim's voice on" Hole ", crystalline guitars of" She "in this tube that 'is "Girlfriend" ... and so on.
On this disc, playing Jesus in a way to Mazzy Star and do better that doing so; group Hope Sandoval, they keep the soul and purity and their noisy rock, they keep that side indomitable, irreverent, deliberately dirty.
That voice, those guitars are the hallmark of the brothers Reid and allow us to recognize among a thousand, they are saturated or softer as is the case here.
And the result, as usual, is amazing.
