Class: Insects Order: Hemiptera
Family: pentatomid
The scientific name of the harlequin bug is "Graphosoma" which in Greek means "body with markings".
The colors and stripes remind us that it is toxic. Indeed, as many bugs, it has glands that release a liquid odor.
Our two bugs present here, are in full coupling. They may remain attached for several hours, even several days. This allows the male to be sure that the female offspring will have no other than his own.
